Lets talk about color

Okay so when people ask me what my colors are I say, black and white with pops of yellow. But as I've been planning so far it's like everythign is black or white or yellow. So I had the idea what if I add some pope. Namely what if the cocktail table table cloths, the accent table cloths on the dessert table and possibly runners on the guest tables are a fun black and white fabric. Here are some I've found on-line. This site had some This site had even more and then I grabbed scattered pictures from other sites as well, the ones at the very bottom are from IKEA.
I'll try to find pics of from magazines and such where they have fun accent fabrics for pop.
Thoughts?

More flower thoughts

So I'm up late again. Thinking about flowers. I really like the looks of the little pomander balls... They seem quite easy to DIY according to the websites I've read. ANd perhaps they could be used at the ceremony on the aisles and then at the reception as decor...
We were thinking that we'd go to a florist to get a large arrangement for the front of the church. But I'm thinking maybe that could be one more DIY. It's ambitious. But I'd rather get more flowers to use in pomanders and around then just get one big arrangement. And maybe I'm just crazy, but I think if I'm not all crazy, "it has to look like this" we could do something large with one of those green spongy things as the base and using only one or two different types of flowers and mount it on a big nice vase filled with leaves so it doesn't look empty (that's how they all are anyway). Like this one below. It's just roses and carnations. Seems easy enough to me. Probably cost $200 or more to be made...

I'm also still looking at the final choices of what flowers I want to order. Click on the links to see pics-

The spider mum is still my fav and main inspiration - http://www.theflowerexchange.com/scripts/prodViewn.asp?idproduct=926

And gerbera's are so happy and have nice stems. I certianly want those involved- http://www.theflowerexchange.com/scripts/prodViewn.asp?idproduct=971

New ones I like:

Queen Anne's Lace - http://www.theflowerexchange.com/scripts/prodViewn.asp?idproduct=1571 It wouldn't be for bouquet's but it may look nice other places.

I know roses are kind of been there done that, but they have a really nice scent - http://www.theflowerexchange.com/scripts/prodViewn.asp?idproduct=535

They also have rose petals. I could put down fake petals first (cause they're cheaper) and then put real ones over the top for scent - http://www.theflowerexchange.com/scripts/prodViewn.asp?idproduct=1277

Maybe having the aisle covered in petals and then a big arrangement in the front is enough for the chuch. How much effort should I really spend decorating the pews? People will not be looking at the pews very much. They are going to be looking forward. The scent of flowers will be nice. But I don't know if I need the pomander balls on the pews... I might still want a few in the trees at Kelly's. Just processing. And really should be in bed instead...
Up late again the next night I'm adding new photos. My latest though (not sure if I'm repeating myself from above) is that the flower petals in the aisle will be enough. I went to a wedding yesterday. And she didn't have anything on the chairs (that would be pews) and I didn't miss it. I barely could see the aisle and when I was focused on it it was to catch a glimpse of the cute flower girl or of the beaming bride. Not a moment was wasted thinking, "why didn't she spend $20 an aisle with flowers to decorate them. So. I think the little poms are cute, but I may have to pass. Also today at Ross I bought this awesome vases that are like crackle glass. One huge one and to medium (really the medium are a large regular size vase) and for the front of the church I'm thinking we have those three and then candle city (still haven't gotten the paperwork from the church telling me if I can have open flames). Then those three can move to Kelly's and go in the entry table. Or something like that. Now I just need to find a picture of an arrangement I really like and order the flowers and figure out how to build it in the vases I bought. Sounds simple enough. Just add it to the about 200 other things I need to do between now and April 4th...

Ceremony Decor

Okay. So I'm trying to tie together ideas for the ceremony decor. There are a few things I've seen before and I love and there are a few things that I've never seen but I like the idea of. I really want to tie the elements together so that it's not like a complete hodge podge of things all shoved together in a chime-job wedding...

So the things I've seen before and love:
A ton of candles at the front of the church/alter. I have to find out if I'm allowed use open flames or if they have to be in candle holders.
I also love a whole lot of flower petals down the aisle. I had been thinking just roses. But I'm intrigued by one of the pictures below that has gerbera daisies and other flowers tossed in the aisle...
The biggest question is what do I do to the pews? I don't want to do nothing. And I got this idea from my aunt where there were pictures of the couple hanging from the pews. And I thought what if we have pics of us on ever 2nd or 3rd pew. Down the right side will be pictures of Eric and down the left side will be pictures of me. The pictures will go from baby to recent. I'm not sure how to hang them. And I'm not sure if there should be ribbon accents involved. I'm also not sure if I should maybe do picture, nothing, flower, nothing, picture, nothing, all the way down the aisle...

The front of the church seems like the perfect place to put candles. I really hope we can have them with out glass around them... And I think the green stuff that lives in there is very nice for background. My mom wants to get a nice arrangement that is at the center and then have candles all around that. I think that will be nice.

This little assortment of flowers on a ribbon on the pew seems nice.

This is an arrangement that is very DIY. We could do something like it for the front of the church. It has a lot of height.
Something huge and expensive like this might be nice for the front of the church too... Then it could be moved to the entry way for the reception.
It also might be adorable to have little mini balls of flowers in the pews and then hung in the trees at Kelly's...

I mentioned these above. Do they look nice or do they look like someone destroyed a bunch of arrangements and scattered them on the ground?

Cupcake Cake

So a cupcake cake is offically plan. My mom and I went to Dots today. http://www.dotscupcakes.com/ We decided to have vanilla, strawberry shortcake, pina colada, apple pie and lemon swirl mini cupcakes. And we decided to build the cupcake stand ourselves. Well acutally my dad's going to build it. It's going to have a 16" layer then 12" 10" 8" and 6". On the very top (the 6") we will have a cake that eric and I will cut. Here's kindof what it will look like:

Ohh so we were thinking round. But this square one intrigued me.

The round one (no people on top. maybe flowers. maybe nothing...) with thicker white ribbon around the edges and all white frosted cupcakes. Thoughts?
