Okay, so after what seemed like months (4.5 days) of deliberation we have settled on a date: April 5th, 2008. It has a nice ring to it.
But that is so not why I was lobbying for it. I wish we had the freedom to choose from any nice sounding Saturday (or Sunday even) in the spring and summer months. But because of a) our desire to to baseball things on our honeymoon (that sounds kind of dirty, let me clarify, because of our desire to see baseball games in NY and Boston on our honeymoon) we had to get married April-Sept. b) because of my alleged writing career the April 15th-June 1st are no fly zone re: being out of town because that is the heat of staffing season, and I would like to get a job as a writer one of these days. c) because we want at least 6 months to "get ready" for the wedding a + b + c = April 5th.
The chapel at Lake is available. Here's a pic of the chapel for those of you who have never seen it:

It's pretty fancy. But I think we can make it look simple and classy. I'll make another post where we can discuss how to make the chapel look nice.
So we have a date and location. I'm stoked. It all feels much realer now...

I'm so excited about your blog! I love that I can still be a part of the wedding planning from up here!
About the chapel... it's so big! It's kind of a daunting task, isn't it?!
Does the church have pictures of past weddings on file? That's where I would start. It is a beautiful chapel all on it's own-- you might not need to spruce it up all that much!
I love the idea of the blog also! Great fun! I was just thinking along the lines of you making one, so this is good, now you can have a ticker count down also, and my quick calculations, puts it at about 150 days!
I like April the 5th, I looked up some things in history on that date-
1910
France bans kissing on trains.
First annual naked day (sounds funnier than it is)

anyways thats all I could find, but sounds like a great date to me!
I love that on April 5th in 1910 France banned kissing on trains. That's hilarious!!!
Naked kissing on trains... sounds like the perfect way to start your lives together =)
think not sprucing to much is a great idea the tule with lights down the isle would be wonderful....maybe some flowers on the stage but remember you'll have your bridal party (girls with flowers) up there to fill in that space.
